Dr. Waldeck Charles, M.D.
Dr. Waldeck Charles is the Medical Director and one of the founding partners at Neuro Focus Center. He is a trained Child & Adolescent, Adult psychiatrist. He was trained at Kings County/Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Phoenix in 2005 and has worked as a Staff Psychiatrist in different locations in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area with groups like Value Options, Magellan, Partners in Recovery, Lifewell, Correctional Health Services, Promises of Scottsdale, etc. He is now mostly concentrated on expanding the services of the Neuro Focus Center clinic. His dream is to make the Neuro Focus Center an advanced, state of the art behavioral health clinic, with an emphasis in healing through pharmacotherapy, Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) and Neurofeedback therapy. Dr. Charles is passionate about behavioral health care and providing dynamic treatment options to his patients through evidence-based modalities that are on the cutting edge of modern neuroscience.
Dr. Cerola Charles, M.D.
Dr. Cerola Charles is the TMS director at Neuro Focus Center. She is an Alumnus of Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, D.C. and began her psychiatric training at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. In the summer of 2016, she accepted a faculty position with the Department of Psychiatry as a physician for the University’s Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) clinics. In this role, she evaluated, diagnosed and treated a diverse population of patients who were confronted with debilitating, chronic substance use disorders in the metropolitan Denver area. In June 2019, she joined her father, Dr. Waldeck Charles to expand the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services at Neuro Focus Center. She is a member of the Clinical TMS Society, a professional association dedicated to optimizing clinical practice, awareness and accessibility of TMS therapy. Dr. Cerola is proud to be of service and care for others as they pursue their journey to wellness.
Aldrin Charles, PA-C
Aldrin Charles is a Physician Assistant at the Neuro Focus Center. He enjoys using his skills to help others. He has worked in healthcare as a clinician for over 30 years, and has had the privilege to work at fine Institutions like the New York Presbyterian Hospital, Edinburg Children Hospital, and Mission Regional Medical Center to name a few. He is a powerful force in the workplace and uses a positive attitude and beautiful smile to motivate others. He finds daily inspiration first from God and from his lovely family. During his leisure time, he enjoys riding his bike, reading and watching the news to keep up with what is going on around the globe.
Maryam Goudarzi, LMFT, Neurotherapist
Maryam Goudarzi has over ten years of clinical experience in the mental health field. Her areas of focus include: Anxiety, depression, stress, Attention deficits (ADD/ADHD), PTSD, issues of loss and grief, serious mental health disorders, substance abuse/ dependence and relationship and family issues. She treats children, adolescents and adults in individual, couple and family therapy. In addition, she has over five years of neuroscience experience, as she is trained and specializes in Neurofeedback with variety of therapeutic approaches. She has experience as a psychotherapist in a variety of settings, including day treatment facilities, hospitals, drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities, outpatient mental health clinics and private practice.
